Merrill Zavod, PhD, is a user experience leader with more than 25 years of expertise in human factors, usability, and user-centered design. He most recently served as Director of User Experience, North America at AstraZeneca, where he built enterprise-wide UX capabilities and led the design of digital health solutions that improved patient care, provider collaboration, and accessibility. His career spans healthcare, telecommunications, finance, and insurance, with a consistent focus on aligning technology with human needs to create meaningful, effective experiences. Merrill has also held senior roles at ZS Associates, SAP, Comcast, and State Farm, guiding UX strategies for enterprise systems and award-winning consumer products. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Experimental and Human Factors Psychology from the University of Central Florida, an M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University, and a B.S. in Psychology from Syracuse University.
